DESCRIPTION:The Department of Veteran Affairs is celebrating National Fitness Day. Through this process\, we will be collecting items that could impact homeless veterans. The purpose is to support homeless Veterans and encourage healthy physical activity for employees and veterans. The VA 2K (1.24 miles) Walk is meant to involve the whole VA community and highlight the importance of physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Employees and Veterans at all levels of fitness can walk\, run\, or roll in support of homeless veterans. The VA 2K is short so that even slow walkers can complete it during a 30-minute lunch break. This event illustrates that incorporating physical activity into the workday is doable.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Independence Day with us! Make sure to come by Mentor Rocks for what is going to be an incredible 4th of July Party! Our bus will be on location to collect donations\, and with a full spread of our newest apparel available to purchase. Remember\, every 2 shirts sold puts a Jacket on the back of our homeless brothers and sisters! \nAmphitheater grounds open at 6:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Coolers are welcomed. No pets\, glass containers\, outside alcohol\, tents\, or shelters\, are permitted on Amphitheater grounds. COVID-19 protocols will be observed\, and concert capacity may be limited. This is a non-ticketed event and entry will be on a first come/first-served basis. Additional rules and information will be posted at the event website. \nNational country recording artist\, Darryl Worley\, will perform on the main stage at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater at 8:00 PM with a spectacular 25-minute fireworks display to immediately follow the concert. \nSeveral popular local food trucks will be serving their festival favorites including burgers\, gyros\, pizza\, and more. A selection of beers\, wines\, and sparkling beverages will also be available for sale.
